My Reading, Booking, & Payment Boundaries

To book with me, read all of the information below. If you choose to book a reading or class without reading all of the information below, that’s on you! My booking boundaries stand whether they are read and understood or not.

There are two types of unpaid labor: Volunteering, and Exploitation.

Volunteering is when I offer a service with full knowledge and mutual agreement that it is unpaid.

Exploitation is when I am told that I will be paid, perform the service, and then never get paid.

I do a lot of volunteering, and I never allow myself to be exploited anymore.

I used to allow people to pay what they could, when they could. I used to offer sliding scale. I used to allow payment to occur after spiritual services were rendered. I used to say “yes” to every request.

As a result, I would spend hours getting ready for services, only to have people no-call no-show, when I could have otherwise been spending time with friends or doing my own work. People would “forget” to bring payment and then never pay, or constantly claim “the check is in the mail.” People would show up wearing designer clothes, but would wheedle and whine to be at the lowest end of the sliding scale, or ask for me to provide spiritual services for free. Lots and lots of people asked for free services. Many more would offer me a $10 bill from their $700 Gucci purse. The vast majority of people who asked for sliding scale were not in need, or on a fixed income or disability income, and absolutely could have afforded to pay full price. As a person who has had to work two jobs, who has gone hungry, who has had to endure financial abuse, I found this absolutely disgusting behavior.

Sometimes, people would email me over and over and over, every five minutes, until I responded. And they still wanted free service or to pay as little as possible.

Sometimes, people would ask me about my gender or my genitals in the middle of a spiritual service.

As a result of so much wasted time, unpaid labor, and disrespect, I would burn out and stop offering services for years.

I am now much older, wiser, and less tolerant of nonsense. And I highly recommend the book Set Boundaries, Find Peace.

My booking boundaries are designed to prevent exploitation. It is highly unwise to even attempt to exploit a witch.

As a result, my booking boundaries are as follows:

  • A session is only booked when 100% of the service fee has been paid. Days/times will not be reserved in advance of payment. If my rates are not affordable for you (which I completely understand, having been there) please reach out to me to discuss sliding scale & other options.

  • Payment must be received in full and in advance of service provided.

  • Payments MUST be made through Paypal or Venmo. Cash, check, and other payment methods are NOT accepted.

  • No refunds, no exceptions. Paid services can be rescheduled, upgraded or changed to a different service when more than 48 hours advance notice is provided.

  • No-shows and cancellations within 48 hours prior to service results in forfeiture of paid fee and service.

  • I reserve the right to say no to requests and demands I cannot meet.

  • I reserve the right to say no to bookings and cancel bookings when folks treat me with abuse, disrespect, or aggression.

  • Misgendering causes real harm. Therefore, I reserve the right to stop services if someone is misgendering me (using incorrect pronouns, or referring to me as a gender which I am not), or otherwise causing harm (such as asking inappropriate or invasive questions, demands, etc). This includes stopping a service in the middle of a paid session. This extends to a group session: if one person in the group is causing harm by misgendering or projecting gender, they will be booted from the group activity. If a service is cancelled or stopped due to misgendering, the service cannot be rescheduled, and the paid fee is forfeited.

  • All of the above also applies for gift certificates. If you are given a gift certificate and misgender me, or cancel/no call - no show/treat me with abuse, etc, I will cancel your reading and a refund will not be provided.

  • If I offer anything as a volunteer, I will make it very explicit that I am offering volunteer services and do not expect to be paid. If I do not offer to volunteer in writing, then it is an offer to perform a paid service.

  • Asshole Tax. Despite very clear boundaries, including no-contact boundaries, some people attempt to force my hand by sending money for a Tarot session or class. If I have stated very clearly that I do not wish to hear from you again, and/or have gone no contact, then sending money for a Tarot reading, class, or other offering is a violation of that boundary. As a result, the money you send me is considered “Asshole Tax” - 100% of the paid fee is immediately forfeited, no session will be booked, and you immediately relinquish the right to sue to redeem the money sent.

By booking a session you agree to all of the above conditions, whether you have read them or not.

"What am I paying for? Why are your fees so high?"

A one-hour session requires four hours of work on my end: one hour spent booking the appointment (offering days/times, receiving payment, bookkeeping, and more); one hour before the session setting up, one hour for the actual session, and one hour after the session to close down/follow up with you if necessary.

Rituals, classes, and ceremonies require even more work on my end, work which goes unseen; classes require the most. As a result, I must charge what is fair for my time.

I am committed to fee transparency. For example, if I ever again offer a sliding scale I will specify that the bottom of the sliding scale equals a person who is making X amount of money (e.g., the federal minimum wage).

It’s taken many years of serious study, many thousands of hours, and many thousands of dollars (books, classes, apprenticeships) to reach my level of expertise. I am constantly learning, reading books, taking new classes, and learning new skills to offer to you -- none of that is free for me to learn, so your patronage is deeply appreciated!

Time is the single resource I cannot get back, and time is what you are booking. Therefore I must charge a fair price for my services.
